Athletes are one of the most popular celebrities to join web3 and continue to pivot to NFTs by launching their own collections. Since the success of TopShot, NFTs have become a popular way for fans to “own” a piece of their favorite athletes’ careers with a tradeable digital collectible.

The latest athlete to join is Klay Thompson, who recently commemorated his career with an NFT launch on Amino, a Web3 health and fitness ecosystem.

Here’s what we know:

The new collection, dubbed GRAILS, will feature Thompson’s artwork across four great years – championship wins in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022 with the reigning NBA champions.

GRAILS will feature over 30 NFT collections designed to honor some of the world’s greatest athletes. Amino noted in a press release that Klay Thompson’s Binance NFT drop would be the first of the series.

Andrew Shore, CEO of Amino, commented, “As a beloved NBA superstar, we are thrilled to be kicking off our partnership with Klay’s NFT collection and give fans the opportunity to be part of his most iconic career moments.”

The NFT Mystery Boxes are expected to go on sale on 18 October 2022. The Binance NFT marketplace will exclusively offer 10,000 Mystery Boxes, each priced at $50.

The Rare NFTs in the drop will feature exclusive Klay Thompson memorabilia, including autographed jerseys, photographs, and basketballs.

Apart from its Web3-focused health and fitness apps, Amino offers access to NFTs of world-class athletes. It also plans to bring Metaverse gaming to its users
