Internationally acclaimed fashion photographer Chen Man further extends her reach into the decentralized domain with her latest venture in non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Here’s what we know:
Renowned for her groundbreaking work bridging technology, art, and fashion, Chen has launched an NFT collection titled ‘Citizens of Mantle’ in partnership with the blockchain project Mantle. Initially available exclusively to Mantle’s early network adapters, the tokens are free to mint.
The ‘Citizens of Mantle‘ collection introduces the concept of ‘modular dynamic NFTs’, pushing the frontier of the NFT realm. According to a Mantle press release, these non-static assets will “redefine the creator-collector boundaries” and pave the way for more interactive NFT experiences.
Arjun Kalsy, Head of Ecosystem at Mantle, explained that these dynamic NFTs change in appearance, evolving based on user engagement within the ecosystem. The collection showcases the limitless potential of the Mantle ecosystem, highlighting the company’s dedication to modular blockchain design and token-governed technologies.
With a prolific portfolio, Chen has made her mark in fashion photography since 2003, capturing global icons such as Rihanna and Fan Bingbing. Her captivating visuals have adorned covers of esteemed publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle, and she’s teamed up with fashion titans like Gucci, Chanel, and Tom Ford.
Chen is no stranger to Web3, having succeeded with her first token drop in collaboration with electro-pop artist Grimes earlier this year. The series “Silent Noise Collection: Episode 01” delved into the future of humanity co-existing with artificial intelligence.
With other industry luminaries, like Nick Knight, Ellen von Unworth, Shavonne Wong, and Marco Glaviano, also entering the NFT scene, the creative industry is rapidly embracing Web3. Kalsy comments, “The continuous participation of prominent figures such as Chen Man and luxury fashion brands shows the NFT market’s vitality and resilience, far beyond the initial hype.”
