Rihanna, famous pop and R&B singer, is soon to launch her limited Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection of her global hit song “B*tch Better Have My Money” (BBHMM). Rihanna’s platinum-certified songs will be streamed on the popular NFT platform Anotherblock, which will also share royalty revenue.

Here’s what we know:

The music production company Deputy, also BBHMM’s co-producer, shall release this song as an NFT, which will, in return, provide a cut of their streaming royalties. On February 9, these limited-edition Rihanna NFTs were released. There is a total of 300 NFTs in the collection.

Roughly calculated, each of these NFTs is priced at $210, or 0.145 ETH. By purchasing one of these exclusive NFTs, owners will receive a 0.0033% share of the song’s future streaming royalties. That may seem like a small percentage, but it’s significant given that the song has already received over 1 billion streams across all platforms.

Deputy said, “As a fan, you get a certain attachment to an artist or a song. When you get an opportunity to own a part of a song, it’s a game changer. It creates a whole different realm of being connected, outside of streaming or concerts.”

BBHMM was released in 2015 and reached the top of the charts in eight countries before going triple platinum in the United States. Pitchfork has included it in the top 200 essential songs of the 2010s. It also managed to advance Deputy’s career as a producer.

Michel D. Traore, cofounder, and CEO of Anotherblock, is equally enthused to be part of this drop. He Tweeted, “We’re thrilled to let more fans of groundbreaking tracks like ‘BBHMM’ connect with their favorite songs and support the creative people behind them in new ways through our drops.”

The drop comes just days after legendary hip hop star, Snoop Dogg, completed a similarly ambitious and wholly successful drop on the exciting Sound.xyz platform. So, if that was a litmus test for A-list musicians entering the NFT space, Rhianna’s new drop could go stratospheric.
