Yuga Labs, the creator of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, has launched a new collection called HV-MTL, which comprises 30,000 Evo 1. And Sewer Pass holders can now burn their old passes to mint these new NFTs – depending on their Dookey Dash scores.

Here’s what we know:

The new collection aims to enable users to convert Sewer Pass NFTs into mechanized Mechs by burning them. As a result, users will unlock future games and content. The inception of Dookey Dash laid the groundwork for this progression.

Dookey Dash is an endless runner game where players maneuver through a simulated sewer system. Last month, esports sensation Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson won the maiden race in which over 25,000 contenders used Sewer Passes as fuel.

The game involves a process called “The Summoning,” in which players can burn their Sewer Pass token to mint an NFT from the new collection. The 30,000-unit collection features “mechs,” which resemble robots and are currently available in Evo 1, with future forms evolving based on players’ performance in upcoming mini-games.

Since the collection’s release, the tokens have surged in value on the secondary market. According to NFT marketplace OpenSea, the collection’s floor price is approximately 2.4 ETH or $4,000, with a trading volume of over 4,850 ETH, or roughly $8 million.

Some early collectors have highlighted problems regarding the metadata and the absence of “companion” traits. To this, Yuga Labs admitted the error and immediately took down the trait, with the goal of issuing a metadata upgrade post-resolution. The team eventually fixed the glitch after working on it for over four hours.

Yuga Labs launched its Sewer Pass mint in January, which earned around $6 million in sales in just a few hours. This signals a fresh chapter in Yuga Labs’ pursuits, presenting members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club with an occasion to interact with their NFTs in ground-breaking manners. As is the case with any emerging market, collectors must exercise caution to evade scams.
